Basketball Wives producers greenlight ‘Best Man’ series

Postedlife.com 19 May 2012, 12:52 am CEST

They might be in some hot water over Basketball Wives but, producers behind the series are moving forward with other programs.

The hit-making production group will produce a new series tentatively titled “Bride or Best Man” for USA.

Announced Friday, USA confirms the series is a “bromantic comedy” with a twist, highlighting a trip down the aisle that goes completely wrong when the Groom and his Best Man are left in charge of planning the ‘big day.’

“As we move into the world of reality programming, we’re staying true to our brand DNA by focusing on real life characters that are every bit as fascinating, inspirational and entertaining as our scripted ones,” USA’s McCumber and Wachtel said in a statement. “These unscripted series let us welcome characters of all types, which will continue to broaden our appeal to audiences.”

It is unclear, at this point, who may star in the pilot.

USA has also greenlit THE MOMENT, a series hosted by Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner. Each week Warner will give someone a second chance to pursue the career they’ve always wanted. From race car driving to orchestra conducting to deep sea diving, everyday people will leave behind the comforts of home and leap into a whirlwind of training under the expert guidance of world-class mentors who will help them prepare for the audition of a lifetime. If they succeed, they will either accept the job that will change their lives forever – or return to their loved ones, realizing that they’ve been living the dream all along.

Queen of Disco: Three of Donna Summer’s Legendary Performances

Postedlife.com 17 May 2012, 7:03 pm CEST

It’s a sad day. We have lost legendary Queen of Disco Donna Summer. She brought such joy with her music, energy and overall onstage presence over the years. What better way to remember her than by looking back at three performances.

1. Donna Summer mash-up/Tribute Medley

2. Donna Summer on ITV performing “Hot Stuff”

3. Donna Summer performs “Last Dance” on Divas.

Bonus: Donna Summer performs “Bad Girl” and “Hot Stuff” on Divas Live! (1999)

Rest in peace Donna Summer. Disco Queen.

American Idol: Joshua, Jessica and our Top 3 Performances

Postedlife.com 17 May 2012, 3:22 pm CEST

American Idol is winding down. Who will win ? Even though it seems sort of apparent who will take the title, I have to say Wednesday’s episode was a little underwhelming for a season semi-final. Where were those “moments,” as Randy Jackson keeps pointing out every week ?

My issues with last night’s episode aside, there were three memorable performances that hopefully gave our favorites a push towards winning next week.

Ready ? Dim the lights. Here we go…

1. Joshua Ledet – “No More Drama” Now some might say he screamed and hollered a little too much (a la Fantasia) but, this performance was the most memorable of the night. It woke me up from a snoozefest to be honest.

2. Jessica Sanchez – “I’ll Be There” While it wasn’t as good as the judges said, Jessica delivered this song well. Was it an “I Will Always Love You” moment ? No.

3. Joshua Ledet – “I’d Rather Go Blind” This third performance was a tough choice. While Jessica did well with “My All” I thought Joshua did better, in terms of control, with this Etta James classic.

What were your favorite performances from “Idol” last night ? Will Joshua and Jessica be the final two or will Joshua get sent home ? Does anyone think Phillip could win ?

American Idol returns tonight with the results show…
